The summer is ideal for walking, golf, swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, biking or hiking. Whether gentle walks or extreme skydiving, there is plenty to fill in the long daylight hours.
Many like to start or finish their day with a strong espresso coffee or a gourmet dinner with local wines or dance the night away at the many bars.

| WINTER |
In winter Wanaka is a very popular alpine base for downhill, telemark, cross country, heliski and terrain park skiers & snowboarders. Being home to four international ski resorts of Treble Cone, Cardrona, Nordic Snow Farm and the Snow Park Terrain Park.
At our back door, only 1.5 hours drive away is another three well known ski areas Coronet Peak, Remarkables and Lake Ohau.

January -2011 Mid January - Challenge Wanaka-13-16th.Spectacular scenic backdrop to one of the world's toughest Ironman triathlon series 25th onwards until around 7th February - Quiet period with NZ school holiday makers gone back home. February 2011 Most settled summer weather traditionally - warm, very little wind - most popular for international visitors. 27th-2010 Otago Cavalcade- Finishes in Wanaka- An annual,unforgettable journey March 2011 11th & 12th - Upper Clutha A&P show. Brings all the region to the second biggest agricultural show in the South Island. 12th - Motutapu Icebreaker - Mountain bike/Marathon 19th & 20th- Otago embroidery Guild workshops/classes April 2011 22-25th- Good Friday/Easter 2012- Warbirds Over Wanaka- Not to be missed- warplane/aviation lovers! Quiet, sheltered and sunny location just 2 to 5 minutes walk to the golf course, cinema, shops and restaurants. We are opposite the DOC- Visitors Centre. We are also close to Mt Iron & Puzzling World. We are 8 kms from the Airport. 25 minutes drive to Treble Cone, 45 minutes drive to our glorious Mt Aspiring National Park
