Challenge Wanaka, Annual Roth Ironman Series, around third weekend in February. 17th February 2018.

March

Local and national event highlights include:

– Motatapu Endurance Race (10th March 2018).

– Upper Clutha A&P Show (9th and 10th March 2018), one of biggest trade and pastoral/agricultural shows in New Zealand.

– Highlands Motorsports.

– Embroidery Workshop (3rd weekend in March).

– Warbirds and Wheels Over Wanaka (every second year), not to be missed by warplane/aviation/car lovers! (30th-31st March and 1st April 2018).

April

Autumn Arts School, mid- late April 2018 (TBA).

Southern Lakes Festival of Colour, first 10 days in April 2019. Based in Wanaka this is a five day biennial celebration and array of the arts, music, theatre and conversations performances, an amazing and uplifting cultural experience.

Easter- NZ Jet-sprinting Champs, Car racing, Art Exhibition.

The Roar, deer/stag hunting/shooting.

Beginning in the first week in July, events in Wanaka - early July NZ Mountain Film Festival, cutting edge cinematography, workshops, trade show, competitions-icon event.

World Heli-challenge extreme mountain event (TBC).

Mid-August Winter Mini Games 21st-30th August 2017 Wanaka, Queenstown, Central Otago, Dunedin, Ranfurly (lead-up series of events for Asia/Pacific Rim Olympic competitors).
